FINALLY Summer "Soul-stice."

 

The Historic Monument Merchants Association is excited to announce a summer event you are not going to want to miss! Finally Summer Soul-stice is a day-long community celebration featuring special merchant events, wellness demonstrations, hayrides, kids art activities, live music, food and a paint-out done by local professional artists painting in the traditional plein air style.

A Chalk Walk (click on the words Chalk Walk for more information) or kids, teens, amateur and professional artists is a highlight of this year’s celebration. Participants are encouraged to create everything from temporary chalk “masterpieces” to some colorful games of tic-tac-toe! Chalk will be supplied participation is free. This family-friendly event is designed to provide attendees with a rich cultural experience. Additionally, other special events and merchant offers will make the day of Finally Summer Soul-stice a fun and extraordinary shopping experience.

All activities will take place in the “downtown” Historic Monument. The “Soul-stice Suds Garden” will be serving up Bristol Breweries finest. Some of the events will include face-painting, balloon art, many different crafts from potted plants to making a crystal sun-catcher. Of course, the wellness tent “Soul-stice Sanctuary” will have will free massages of different kinds, free glucose and blood testing, meditation, yoga and much more. The bands and musicians will be spread throughout town for your enjoyment. The “Soul Train” (hayride) will transport you from the different venues.

Music
10:00am to 12:00noon -Front Street Square merchants will feature the Rocky Mountain Steel Drum band
12:00 to 2:00pm - Mid-town (the Chapala Building area) will feature Kevin Rorke
2:00 to 4:00pm - Chris Loyer Quartet playing jazz tunes from be-bop to contemporary at Wisdom Tea House
4:00 to 6:00pm - Blues artist Big Jim Adam will play at Gallery Center
5:00 to 9:00pm - La Casa Fiesta will feature the live music of Crosser Davis on their patio

Chalk Walk
A Chalk Walk will be held throughout the historic downtown for kids, adults, amateur and professional artists. Please click here for more information about how to sign up for a Chalk Walk square. This activity is free and chalk will be supplied to all participants.

Soul-stice Suds Beer Tent
Bristol Brewing will be serving suds from 11:00am to 4:00pm at the corner of Washington and Third Streets in the Soul-stice Suds Beer Tent

Soul Train
The Soul Train hayrides will run all day from Gallery Center, Front Street Square and the old Town Hall parking lot.

Soul-stice Sanctuary
Sunrise meditation, free massages throughout the day, free glucose and blood testing, other wellness demonstrations and more at Limbach Park.

Arts and Crafts at Old Town Hall
Free arts and crafts activities throughout the day at the old Town Hall.

Plein Art Painters
Artists will be set up throughout the historic downtown painting in the traditional plein air style.

Second Street Art Market and Wine Bar
Beginning at 9:00am there will be a TeePee Raising demonstration in front of the art market. Throughout the day we will feature refreshing SUMMER wine tastings along with micro-brew tasting. Also, Big Jim Adam will be performing from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Gallery Center.

Bella Art & Frame
Sidewalk Sale from  9:00am to 4:00pm featuring: new and used frames; fun and festive jewelry, 25 percent off all "funky scarves." Plus there will be a drawing for an "high-fashion" piece of jewelry.

Bella Casa
A master calligrapher will be here from 11:00am to 3:00pm.  Her name is Hilary Brendemuhl and she has done work for Tiffany's, Louis Vuitton and many others throughout the nation and the world.  She will have samples of her work and will do a personalized card for each visitor to Bella Casa.

Margo’s on the Alley
Come in and get your name in the raffle for one of the very popular weather vanes. Lamps will also be on sale. Come hear Olivia Fowler playing clarinet on the patio.

Frozen drinks will also be available. We will be serving wine and other refreshments and will have music on the patio amid the flowering pots and hanging baskets.
